The Writer’s Digest is a highly respected, 100 year old magazine/publisher. Because of the high volume of submissions to its annual writing competition, placing in the top tiers or winning a category award signifies strong merit against a large group of writers. In the 2026 contest there were 3,300 entries from 40 different countries. Judges are editors, publishers and credentialed writers. There are 9 categories with 10 top places in each. Categories range from poetry, children’s stories, general fiction to inspirational and memoir.

Roaring Lambs is a Texas-based Christian ministry that began in 1980. The organization hosts a writers conference annually which includes a writer’s contest with awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. At the 2017 conference I was awarded 1st Place for my entry, Faith on the Fault Line. It was a privilege to share a testimony about how my faith has impacted my life.
